Meet Our Directors
Dan Goodier, Executive Director
I began my tenure on the CCHS campus in October of 2000. As Executive Director, I am personally committed to offering customers an exceptional choice of living environments and access to consistent, high quality healthcare services that our residents and their families can count on when needed.
I find it difficult to pick out only one, or even a hundred favorite moments I have had on our campus. However, I find it safe to say that every 'favorite moment' has something to do with the smiles of those we serve.
The kindness, respect, and genuine Christian love we share are daily reminders of our humanity. It is an honor to serve, and yet a truly humbling responsibility.
Mary Eells, Director of Operations
I have worked in health care as a Registered Nurse for many years. I became the Director of Nursing of Christian Community Home in 2003. In the fall of 2011 my title was changed to Director of Operations. My job is to coordinate the day to day operations at the Christian Community Home of Hudson campus. Christian Community Home offers many services from rehab, long term, and memory care along with a variety of assisted living options.
The best part about working here at Christian Community Homes and Services is getting the chance to get to know the residents and their families, and having the opportunity to share in their lives.
Beth Ann Richter, Director of Finance
I have been the Finance Director since March 2000. I graduated with honors from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and began my experience in senior health care in 1985, and received my Certified Public Accounting license from the State of Minnesota in 1987.
Prior to joining Christian Community Homes and Services, I was the Controller for Twin City Christian Community Homes and Services, Inc. in Arden Hills, Minnesota, and Accounting Director for the Evangelical Good Samaritan Society of Minnesota.
One of my fondest memories here at CCHS are reading a resident's autobiography to her because she could not see and because she enjoyed listening to the stories about her life.
Kathy O'Connell, Wintergreen Housing Director
I have been with CCHS since 1976. I first started when the nursing home was still attached to the local hospital and transferred to CCH when it opened in 1981.
During my time here I have had a variety of roles and responsibilities, but for the past ten years I have been the Housing Director at Wintergreen. I am also the Campus Beauty Salon Director and play an important role in marketing for the campus.
My favorite memory of the campus is the dedication service in 1981. At that ceremony a speaker said, "Everyone has a story. Take time to hear their stories." I have tried to heed that advice and listen to our resident's stories.
The stories all have themes of perseverance, bravery, fortitude, integrity, and patriotism. Listening to them has taught me so much about the people we serve on our campus.
Brenda Magadanz, Director of Therapeutic Recreation
I have been with Christian Community Homes since 1993 as the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Coordinator of Volunteer Services. My role here is to add to the quality of the lives of the residents through recreational programming. I am responsible to meet the individual social, emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual needs of each resident.
My favorite memory has been the Olympics of 2008, where the residents had such a great time competing and socializing. Beach day is also another favorite because one of the residents wore her bathing suit every year. However, the things that mean the most to me are the daily moments when you know you have touched a resident's life and gave them a moment of joy, and they return the favor.
Jim Wood, Executive Chef
I began as the Executive Chef for the Christian Community Home campus in 2000. My role here is to plan the menus for all three buildings on campus, invent new and innovative recipes for the residents, oversee the production of the meals, purchase outstanding products, and lastly, uphold the incredible service our dining staff provides the residents.
What I enjoy most about being the Executive Chef is being able to work with our dietary staff to provide a superior quality product for our residents and their families.
Travis Sanders, Red Oak Center Director
I started as the Red Oak Center Director for Christian Community Homes and Services, Inc. campus in November of 2006. As the Red Oak Center Director I am responsible for overseeing the exercise programs for all campus residents who utilize the wellness center.
I am also the Restorative Care Manager, where I help to enhance the quality of life for our residents through ambulation, range of motion exercises, activities of daily living training, and amputation and prosthesis assistance.
So far, my favorite memories here on the CCHS campus have been the opening of the Red Oak Center and having the opportunity to participate in wheelchair square dancing with the residents during the National Homes for the Aging Week.
Tina Burton, Director of Human Resources
I have been with Christian Community Homes and Services since 1981. Over the years, I have held several positions which have helped me to grow into my current position as the Director of Human Resources. I enjoy working with our employees and assisting with their benefit needs as they change.
The things I like most about CCH are the relationships that are formed with residents and staff by working in such a caring environment. Many of us have become like family working together over the years.
Sue Martin, Business Office Director
As the Business Office Director, I oversee the day-to-day business operations for all CCH facilities with an emphasis on efficient processes, cross training personnel, and assisting with the financial needs of our residents. I am a passionate advocate of insurance coverage for our CCH and assisted living residents, so that their focus is on healing and regaining their strength.
When I began working at CCH in August 2011, I was impressed with the beautiful and serene environment and the caring and dedicated staff who work tirelessly on assisting residents with their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. CCH is truly a Christian community dedicated to preserving the dignity and individuality of its residents.
Jennie Spencer, Director of Nursing
I started at Christian Community Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and have been the Director of Nursing since October 2011. I work with the nurses and the CNAs to assure the needs and cares of the residents are being met and that the residents enjoy their time at CCH.
I have known my entire life that I wanted to be a nurse and I appreciate working at CCH where young professionals can grow and excel in their career. Some of my greatest memories are the success stories of residents who come in for rehab and are facing a difficult recovery, but surprise even themselves and eventually walk out the doors to go back home. |
